About

All about B.L.I.N.G. You may be thinking something shiny and flashy? Well, actually for us it is an acronym for Business Ladies of Industry Networking Group. We are a networking group open to all ladies that are interested in promoting their businesses. We meet monthly at different business locations, which offers an opportunity for our hostess to showcase her place of business! We enjoy an evening of heavy hor d’oeuvres, drinks and fun networking. During our events when the Bling Bell rings, we offer you a chance to win a Business Highlight. If you are the lucky one to have her card chosen, you may take center stage and briefly speak about your occupation. There is no fee to join our group. However, we do ask for an entrance fee at the event, that can be paid online when you sign up to attend for $5, or pay at the door. We also have a 50/50 raffle at each B.L.l.N.G. So bring some cash to purchase tickets, some lucky lady always wins half the money. The other half goes into our donation fund. Several times throughout the year B.L.l.N.G. donates to a charity. Thus far we have made monetary donations to Beyond Boobs and The March of Dimes. As a group we have collected and donated to F.l.S.H., Be a Santa to a Senior, Avalon, and have provided some back-to-school supplies to local students.

How it all started In the fall of 2009 a group of business women attended a ladies event at a local restaurant. A pad of paper was passed around to collect names of others that were interested in meeting monthly. Sitting around that table, that night. Founders DeAnna Kimrey, Traci Carlson and Karen Schell all agreed to develop a new and fun women only network. With that single pad of paper, Karen Schell hosted the first event in December 2009 at Cooke’s Christmas. We are proud to now be 800 strong in our group in Williamsburg! Now expanding to the Newport News area you can have twice the B.L.l.N.G. experience.

Remember we are a women-only networking group and you must to be 21 to attend. As much as we love children, we ask that you please leave them at home. Do bring your business cards for door prizes and networking! Dress is business attire, up to you if you want to BLING it up! We look forward to meeting you!
